Balarama Raju Buddharaju is a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience in the field of Perception and Prediction for autonomous vehicles. He is currently employed at Motional where he applies his expertise in machine learning applications for Computer Vision and Robotics. Balarama has a passion for developing and implementing learning-based Perception and Prediction models for autonomous vehicles. Prior to joining Motional, Balarama worked at Cyngn as a Software Engineer where he was responsible for Lidar Perception, Multi-Sensor Fusion, and Behavioral Planning. He also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University where he taught the Deep Reinforcement Learning & Control course. Balarama holds a Master's degree in Computational Design & Manufacturing from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He has a strong technical background and is proficient in Software Engineering, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning, and ML.
